Hello, novel, my old friend (part II)

Last night, I did it.

I lit some candles, turned up my favorite Sirius channel and cuddled up on the sofa in front of my Christmas tree with my laptop to work on The Novel.

For nearly five hours, my characters and I huddled together to flesh out, edit and rewrite the first 14 pages.

When I looked at the clock, I could hardly believe so much time had passed, especially since it seemed like I sat down just minutes before.

It was one of the most inspiring nights I’ve had in a while.
It was a high that I couldn’t get enough of.

When it was time to close up shop, it actually hurt to walk away, but I knew I had to.

But I can’t wait to return and see where the editing process, and hopefully the finishing process, takes me – I mean, us.
