30-Day Poetry Challenge: Day 21

Day 21: Modify someone else’s poem posted from yesterday’s Creative Commons 2.0 Part 1 prompt.
I really couldn’t find anyone’s from yesterday’s prompt, so I thought I’d rework my own poem from yesterday.

Pretty tree buds from Madison Square Park yesterday.

Pretty tree buds from Madison Square Park yesterday.

Leaves,
hibernated for the winter,
thrust forth from reed-thin branches,
opening themselves to the endless sunshine
of the coming months,

for a death inevitable when the first frost comes.
